  Notizen	Huron Daily Plainsman Mon. Oct. 24, 1977 Funeral services for John Schroeder, 90, were held in Mount Calvary Lutheran Church with the Rev. John Sandstrom officiating. Burial was in Riverside cemetery. John Schroeder was born Feb. 14, 1887, at Oldenburg, Germany, to Helena and John Schroeder. He came to the United States in February, 1911, and worked as a farm hand near Lane. He married Margaret Harmdierk, Oct. 8, 1915, at Lane. They homesteaed near Red Elm in Ziebach County, when they moved near Alpena. In 1928 they moved to a farm near Huron. The last few years he made his home with his son Raymond. Schroeder was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Church in Germany.He was a founder of Mount Calvary Lutheran Church of which he served as Vice President 12 years. He was a former member of the Farmers Union. Survivors are two sons Herman and Raymond, two daughters, Mrs. Basil (Marie) Berquist and Mrs. Alvin (Esther) Halbur, all of Huron; six grandchildren; one great grandchild; two brothers, William in Germany and August, Jackson, Minn. He was precded in death by his wife Margaret in 1962, four grandchildren, Rodney, Ronald and Rciky Schroeder and Nancy Louise Halbur, five brothers, Herman, Bernard, Gerhard, George and Fritz and one sister, Marie Schroeder.
