JOSEPH HATKE PASSED AWAY TUESDAY
Joseph Hatke of north of Teutopolis passed away about 3 o'clock Tuesday afternoon, June 25, 1946, after having been, in failing health during the past several months. He was 80 years, 2 months and 8 days of age at the time of his death.
Born on April 17, 1866, Joseph was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Hatke, nee Margaret Terhauer. On October 28, 1895 he was united in marriage to Philomena Stumborg. To this union eight children were born, two daughters dying in infancy and one son: Lawrence, died in 1920 at-the age of 16.
Mr. Hatke, who was engaged in farming throughout his lifetime until his retirement from active duty a few years ago, is survived by his devoted wife; two sons: George and Edward; and three daughters: Mrs. John (Adeline) L udwig and Miss Helen Hatke, all of Teutopolis; and Mrs August (Florence) Beres of Chicago; besides a host of other relatives and friends.
The remains lay in state at the family home from Wednesday evening until time for the funeral services which will be held Freda morning, at 9:30 A. M. at St Francis church in Teutopolis, burial to be made in the parish cemetery.
